Problem: Subs slide around in the back...

I know what you're already thinking, "BOLT THEM TO THE GROUND IDIOT!!"
...But I can't, I need to be able to get under the subs and there really isn't a good spot to bolt them down. So...
I have a 95 Max with 2 12" subs in the back, they are in a single box and they slide around. The carpet slides with them too, so when I open my trunk, the carpet is all bunched up to one side along with the subs. Has anyone found a remedy to this that would prevent the carpet and the subs from sliding around and still give access to under the carpeting. I was thinking of Velcroing the carpet to the floor that way the carpet wouldn't slide...anyone tried this?

You can either velcro or staple the rug to the ground. Then just put velcro strips on the box and carpet.

velcro didn't work for me. it just bunched up the carpet even worse. my cheap solution...bungee cords. i got 2 cords (since 1 isn't long enough) and have holding my box in towards the rear seat. it's hooked to the metal frame thingy that goes across the rear seat. works rather well, even though my box+sub is at least 100 pounds.

velcro does not work from my experience. if you want put a 1/2" piece of wood under and use lbrackets...make a hinge if you want to keep your spare tire easily accesible also.

I used some of those cords that have hooks on both ends, and you can tighten up by pulling it through a hinge type thing, this was on my 92 Maxima. There the ones that you can release the tension by pushing on a lever. They worked pretty well. I apologize for the lame description, but at the momonet I cannot remember what they are called.

nope, no issues of the box falling over. it's hooked to this metal bar thingy that spans the gap of the rear seat. if you're going to use bungee cords, make sure they're the heavy duty ones so it's harder to stretch. it'll 'pull' harder on the box keeping it in place.
