Sound deadening behind speakers

How do you sound deaden behind the speakers? I spent the last 2 days installing edead on my rear deck and doors but can't figure out how to install behind the speakers. Anyone?

Windows up. Apply to the inside side of the door skin. Put speakers back in. If you don't have a lot left at a minmum make sure you do directly behind the speaker.

I bought 30 sq ft of Edead, so I have enough. I was just curious on how you install it behind the speakers. Is there like a dome or plastic container that you can buy to put the speakers in?

Unless you are competing or are using the door speakers for bass, you don't need an enclosure for the front and rear. 30sq ft is enough to do the front doors. You can be detailed and use up 18-20 sq ft. This is def overkill though. If you do 15 sq ft on each door you will be very happy. 30 sq ft isn't really that much. I was in on a G35 this past weekend with Don and he used almost 2 36 sq ft bulk packs just on the four doors. He coated the inside skin as well as the door panel(2 coats, 1 inside, 1 on the panel itself). How much you use and where you out it is up to you. At a minimum I would apply a circle to the doors skin just behind the speaker and then do the door panel. I don't think you will be able to do all four doors with the amount you have though.

I guess Edead sent me alot more than 30 sq ft. by mistake, because I was able to do my rear deck, all 4 doors, and still have some left over. Where can I buy speaker enclosures? Thanks for your assistance.

What kind of box do you want. There are questions you need to answer first.

I still can't believe I split the sheet metal on the rear deck. As soon as I recover from doing Jeremy's car, I will start mine. I will take more pics of mine than I did his. If you want to hang out here you are more than welcome to. Just let me know.

Dynomat is overpriced. I would use either Stinger Expert Roadkill(which I have) or Cascade VB-4.

BTW... it was my G35 that was done... and trust me on this.... get alot of deadening. I got 6 bulk packs of the stuff and left Don's with only 1 pack left over. I still haven't done the trunk lid yet. The deadening makes all the difference in the world. Although I've heard (from Don) that it helps if you have a decent stereo system to begin with.

He even talked me out of my Kenwood HU and into an Eclipse AVN HU. And I haven't been happier since. Chris and I got lost just getting out of the immediate area and back on to the NJ Turnpike. Thank goodness for the Navi, as it saved our butts at 3 in the morning (when we left).
