Ebay lights

This is probably your best bet. Kinda expensive, but they are SAE/DOT approved

If you wanted to add LEDs to the OEM tails you would have to purchase a perforated circutboard, cut to the shape of the oem tails, and solder in a TON of LEDs in series. It would not be crazy difficult, but very time consuming...it would look pretty awesome if you did it, though...

I have the links bookmarked somewhere...I'll find them in a sec. I would recommend going as bright as possible with the LEDs since more LEDs in series will be dimmer as a result of larger draw...but don't worry, it'll still be bright as hell!!!!

Here's some pics courtesy DWarner's cardomain site...

Cardomain

You can get the perf board from Radiosmack. I have completed one tail for the 4th gen, just been lazy about doing the other three...

You can ask UNCDood(jason) about them he has seen mine in person.

I would actually recommend getting the LEDs on eBay...you will get a much better price and a might brighter LED then would be availible on any other sites that I have seen. Brightness is measured in Micro Candle Display, or MCD.
