Just a ? about Adire and RE...

I have been looking around on the net trying to find out where to buy either Adire Audio Brahma MKII's or RE XXX's. I have yet to find a listing of shops that sell XXX's and it seems like everywhere that sells the Brahmas has them on back-order. I did find the only Adire Audio authorized dealer n NC, but they only do home audio...i think. If anyone on the .org knows somewhere that sells either of these subs let me know. I'm not really looking to get one right away, but if i find a place that sells them....should i go ahead and pick it up? I hope u guys can help me out with this. BTW....If anyone has a 12" or 15" Brahma or XXX....that u may want to get rid of PLEASE let me know.

the mark II brahmas are VERY hard to get now. they're no longer in production, as the new version of the brahmas are being produced at the moment. i really don't know what to tell ya besides keep looking at classifieds from forums such as www.caraudio.com/vb

you can also check ebay for them. as for resonant engineering, i don't think they have dealers. you order from them directly.

c'mon guys you know better... RE has a policy where you can ONLY buy from them if there is NOT a dealer within 50 miles of you.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. So i could contact RE and order subs directly from them? Which would u guys recommend the XXX or Brahma? I have never heard either one personally, but b/t the .org and realmofexcrusion i have heard nothing but good things about both subs. The one or two places online that sold Brahmas had them for $350 - $375 for the 12", and $400 - $430 for the 15". I figured that these subs would be higher priced, but i guess these prices sound legit right?

the prices for adire products will go down. call RE and they will ask your zipcode to verify if you have a dealer or not. however, they are moving so be patient with them.

I guess living n the middle of no-where is actually gonna be a good thing if i decide to order from RE. I don't have any stereo shops within 50 miles of my hometown. And there is only one stereo shop where i go to college that is any good. Everyone around here is really mainstream dealers, RF, Kicker, Memphis, JL, etc. Not saying thats a bad thing, but i like to have something different than most people around town.

i believe so. for under 1k of power, i take a brahma, for over 1k i take an XXX. but for under 800 watts i take an avalanche.

Well I have a RF Power 2001BD. Its pushing 1500 @ 2ohms, and the birth sheet says 2264 @ 1 ohm, and thats CEA 2006 Specs. I haven't had everything n my car for very long, and I love my Orion H2, but it really doesn't dip as low as most 12's...its an awesome sub for everyday use. I'm just looking to get another sub (maybe 2), to have n my car part-time (enclosure n the backseat). I ended up putting the H2 n a 2.5^ft vented enclosure tuned at around 40-45hz...i can't remeber exactly.

it does not go as low due to the tuning of the box...try a 30hz tune.

Yea that's what i was thinking it was due to the tuning of the box, but my box builder said that they never really tune boxes much lower than 38hz. How do i change the tune of an enclosure? I have seen a lot of ppl. with XXX's have there box tuned to 28hz. I think when i get my XXX i'm gonna actually build the box myself. I have built a couple of smaller boxes for friends, but have always let a professional build mine. Thanks for all the input so far...especially slickrick. Keep the feedback and opinions coming!!

you have to add port length...if its a slot port you would have to add wood to the port. if its a round port just add pvc. i would highly recommend building your own box. it is a great learning experience and anyone can do it.

So it looks like this is what I'm gonna b going with. Shrapner...i need some box dimensions, and let me know how n the hell u fit that 15" n the trunk!
