re-wiring neons under dash
re-wiring neons under dash
I have blue neons under my dashboard, which I wired underneath my dash so you cannot see the wiring. It's plugged into the cigarette lighter. I don't care if they're considered "ricey", so don't bother posting that. I wanted to know if anybody knows of a diagram, or knows how to wire them so that instead of turning the switch on manually, i can just wire them through my headlights so that whenever I turn on my headlights, they come on. Thanks

You are making things complicated why not just hook it up to the cigarrette
lighter or the fuse box , anywhere where you can find a 12volt hook it up there, just my opinion.hope it helps

you should wire them up to a power source and a switch. that way they dont necessarily have to be on when the headlights are on. comes in handy on those long dark drives. anything bright in the car is a killer if your out on the highway somewhere. i cant have the screen in the dash on if its too dark out. its too bright even with thebrightness turned all the way down on the screen. just my .02
you have a lot of choices...you can wire it straight to the battery (don't forget the fuse), splice it to the acc wire, use a relay and splice into the door trigger, etc. make sure you put a switch, though. they're cool every once in a while, but you don't want them on constantly.
I wired mine up to a switch in the dash and to the cigarette lighter power. Then I can have them on or off whenever I want. Sometimes I just need to be a little more professional and I keep them off, or when I'm having fun, they can be on. It works out great.
why not use a relay and wire them up to come on with the parking lights (you can use the gauge lights as a signal), and then hook up a switch that goes to the neons so they come on when the parking lights come on, and your switch is open, that way you can shut them off too, just put the switch in your center console if you want it hidden
