Avalanche 12" vs Brahma 12"

I'm sorta bent on which one will sound better... it's pretty cheap now, and i can't decide if i should get it or not (need $ for books during my summer classes)

both are designed around the XBL_2 more technology from adire audio. but even with the similar internal designs, they don't necessarily sound/perform the same. other materials also play a role on how it sounds. with my brahma right now, i'm getting tight bass response, even with my ported box, and some stupidly loud bass volumes. from slickrick's avalanche 15 testimonials, it sounds very accurate as well, but i'm wondering if the 12" version will play as LOUD as my brahma. so far i have two options that i can see...

1) get my brahma reconed for 100 bucks so it'll be like new.
2) get the avalanche 12" and hope for the best.

any input guys?

hhm hard decisions. one hand you could get the brahmah done for half the price and it will still be good, or you could spend the money on the ava12 and try something new. and sell the brahmah

completely disregard option 1 because you know its a waste of time and $$$ since shipping costs will be real fun not to mention building a crate for it.

Take a trip over to San Antonio and let me take that brahma off your hands real cheap.

It's an option.

Aren't the Ava12's like $225? Seems like i saw a new one for pretty cheap. A lot cheaper than what I thought. I would probably buy the new sub, but it would b hard to replace the Brahma.
