Ugg 3rd weekend of doing this and i finally have everything wired in right and everyting works BUT...... it wont unlock it will lock but wont unlock....

so i read up and in small print it said it needed a double pulse for the unlock to work.

What the heck does that mean??? :S

Can anyone give me a pointer... is it another wire or what do i need to do?

our cars have what is known as driver door priority unlock. press unlock button once on remote to unlock the driver's & a second time within 3 seconds to unluck the others. that said, means you'll probably need to add a relay and 2 (1-2 amp diodes) to the circuit in the driver's door to create the double pulse signal for the add-on alarm. since I don't know what alarm you're using, I suggest contacting the manufactorer for necessary diagrams and parts. You can get the parts from Radio Shack also Omega sells parts and has diagrams- --770)942-9876 or techline 770)942-5400. hope this helps. this is an add-on alarm you're working with, right?

 

What a double pulse is, 2 jolts of electricity.
for normal computer circuits its either +/- 5 volts or +/- 3 volts or +/- 12 volts
My guess the car is 12v, since the battery and everything else is 12v. MIGHT BE WRONG!!!! CAUTION!!!!
For the record, if i use the door lock on the drivers door, all doors unlock/lock in 1 push. MY Nissan key fob opens drivers door with one push and all the others with 2.
