Multiple remote functions using PAC SWI-X
Multiple remote functions using PAC SWI-X
I'm curious is anyone else has done this. I have programmed my swi-x to mute when I press both volume buttons. It also jumps to the next mp3 folder when I press the up and down buttons. The delay in the swi-x unit seems to make this possible without any problems. I have yet to encounter any problems pressing multiple steering wheel buttons and having it do the wrong remote call.
I am going to reprogram my unit to add an mp3 folder down with the menu, up and down buttons pressed. I forgot, do we have 8 or 12 slots for remote codes? This would be helpful incase I can think of any other combinations of buttons to store.
This is more of an fyi post, but if anyone could answer my question, that would be great

i know you can do it but im too lazy to do it myself. have you ever considered using the am/fm button on the steering wheel controls as a mute/attenuator button? im not sure how the 2k1 setup is but my controls have it and its pretty handy.

The volume and track buttons operate normally, but the mode button is pause/play.
I didn't know we could program multiple codes for each button that way. I actually just relocated my unit to above the headliner, and I have the IR LED coming down very neatly behind the rearview. Looks stock and actually works far better than it ever could in the center console. Now I have easy access to the unit (just take out sunglasses holder), so I may try some reprograming. Thanks for the info!
The buttons I have on my 01 are: Vol up, vol down, next track (up arrow), prev track (down arrow), and mode.
My configuration has been:
(steering button(s): remote ir)
Vol up: vol up
Vol down: vol down
Vol up + vol down: mute, stupid eclipse cd8454 doesn't have a pause fuction on the remote
Next track: Next track / up seek for radio
Prev track: Prev track / down see for radio
Next track + Prev track: Next folder / Next radio station preset
Mode: Toggles between CD, AUX, Memory Stick, Radio
I just tried to add prev mp3 folder to the next track, prev track, and mode buttons, but it would not detect that. Then I tried some other buttons. For some odd reason, the swi-x picks up the same signal from the steering wheel buttons for Next Track & Vol down and mode. I would have played around with it some more, but I have to get some other stuff done.
