which carpet/liner should i get for my trunk box
#1
I'm custom making an MDF box for my trunk. It will hold my amp, at least one sub, and my PC.
I'm wondering what material I should use to cover it with.
My trunk color is a deep grey/charcoal.
Look here:

Should I just use the trunkliner stuff? Or the Pro-Felt? What adhesive do you guys recommend?
Will premium wood glue do the trick, or should I get something special?
thanks

3M makes an aresol glue in a can (Home Depot) that you spray onto the back of the carpet then apply to the box. Very simple. Mosty Charcol carpets will match fine, but might I suggest using tweed instead? As nice as your car is, I'd try redoing the trunk a little from the norm. Thats what I'm doing(although not tweed) Looks much nicer than carpet. BTW, how did the RAAMmat work out for you?

Go with what Whitemax says but also include
Xtreme Dynamat. It is a self adhesive mat to
prevent squeaks and rattles in your trunk.
You wanna hear that bass and not the rattle!

you can also get the tweed cloth quite a bit cheaper from local upholstery supply shops. the problem is that often they won't have the color or texture you want.
Select Prod. caters only to car audio stuff, so all the stuff they have there is designed specifically for auto environment.
If you go to a regular upholstery shop, you'll find everything from the stuff needed to recover a couch to auto grade stuff to boats to commercial applications.
much more stuff to choose from and the prices are generally lower, but they often won't have a clue how to advise or help you if you're in a jam on the install in your car.
