Adding perimeter sensor to stock Alarm?

I have no idea what the stock alarm covers... but my neighbor just got one of his headlights stolen last week... he has a 5.5gen Maxima... and his car is right NEXT to mine... and those phuckers even left a beer bottle by the car!!

His hood has a dent now and I thought the alarm should've gone off!!!

Like I said.. I am not sure what the alarm does, besides opening the doors and trunk... but I would like to add a perimeter sensor...

Whats the best way to go? Does Nissan offers an upgrade to stock alarm??

Or should I replace the whole stock alarm? Would I have to keep 2 remotes?? Thats silly...

What u guys done regarding the alarm?

Thanks

BB

u could get an aftermarket security system and still use ur OEM remote....there is a module from DEI that will integrate the factory remote to aftermarket system...u also have to keep in mind that that u would be better off with getting the shock sensors...one for the inside and other for the hood....in my opinion the proximity/motion detector don't work that well

btw...u don't have to carry two remotes around....if u do aftermarket securit/remote start the new remote will do locking/unlocking/trunk...just my .02

Go with the Viper 791XV.

I am not sure if you've heard of Don... hes a reputed installer and a pro at Maximas...
his id on the org is Pearl96max. He's in NJ and i would say the drive out there to get him to do the install for you is well worth it. I am planning to do this soon...
He has a special running for 5.5+gens..
Checkout his signature on the first post at http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....5&page=1&pp=30

Good luck pal

I have the viper with the pager .I have a sensor on each headlight and one for the car and if you just lightly tap any headlight the alarm goes off . It ran me about 500 with remote start
