I need a hook up!

Ok, here is my situation. I have two amplifiers. I would like to hook one up to the fronts and rears (with amp in trunk). My question is. Do I have to run wire from my HU to the amp and back to the front speakers? Do RCA leads make this unnecessary?

Yes.

The RCA's feed the signal to be amplified to the amplifier. The signal then goes from the amplifier to the speaker via speaker wires.

Take a look at www.crutchfield.com , they have good basic explanations regarding car audio.

Its way easier if you dut your amp up front.. under a seat or something.. If you CAN... and if you are willing to sacrifice the show-off value.
