Elemental Designs put out some great equipment. I've owned two of their subs and they blew away all my friends systems bought frfom local audio stores. ED's customer service is great as well.

you have to be a member...then accept access into OT to find that thread. ED has had numerous "unfortunate events that were uncontrollable". thats fine and dandy except when Steve Ponte (former head speaker designer/big wig at TC sounds) comes out in that thread and says Ben had drivers built, then didnt pay for them, then complained when they broke (due to his own design flaw), thats just not acceptable IMO. alot of companies make plenty of mistakes, but when pix come out of literally hundreds of drivers broken strictly due to a design flaw...it reminds me of audiobahn.

the current line uses ID as the buildhouse for their subs...TC sounds which makes many subwoofers was their old buildhouse. the only reason I'd buy ED is because of the warranty...due to the past it "appears" that even if the user breaks the sub they get a new one for free. i did extensive research before i purchased my 15 and i did NOT go with ED. however, the 16 Ov2 was considered until they changed the rms rating on it along with some other things.

edit: because I'm bored i found a few threads that might be interesting...you decide.

i'd rather have the ID, it's cheaper. i'm sure they sound a lil diff but who cares, ID owns haha
