Alright, first off...your biggest mistake is the 3 sets of comps. You seem like you want to shell out alot of money, which is cool, but do yourself a favor. Instead of all those comps, ditch them ALL. Run coaxes in the rear doors, and that's it. Get a good 3-way set for the front. Better yet? Power the whole 3-way set with 3 separate amps and go ACTIVE on the whole system. What brands of equipment are you looking at?

Wow...lol. Do you understand what that whole surround sound setup is for the Alpine? It's called F-1 Status. And it costs $10k+.

Ok, let's cal it down a bit then. REALISTICALLY, how much are you willing to spend?

yo dan - this kid is local....(somewhat)

its easy.
1. sell everything
2. go to don.
3. make sure u pay him well, and make sure u give me money for finding u someone who will make your car sound "sicker" than any of your friends' garbage alpine systems.

Yeah, I would have to agree that's his best option at this point in time, at least for the type of system...I just hope he did not buy all of this already.

...if he is willing to shell out mad bank for this system, maybe Don will set him up with some horns for mids and run the tweets active... x a million

Before you do anything, I would talk to Pearl96Max, he is the moderator of this forum and a car audio/video/security GOD. I, along with MANY other .org members, have purchased equipment from him as well as had our installs performed by him.

Click HERE and send him a PM or email. He may chime in on this hread, but he is mo busy with some installs he is going for a show. He will be more than happy to help you.

With all due respects to your freinds dad, he seems like his intentions are good, but I don't really think he knows audio all that well. If he did he would not be trying to unload 3 sets of comps on you...

yea bro u dont need that many speakers for a front stage or for anything for that matter. when my SQL setup is in in going to be running DLS iridiums in fiberglass kicks, and woofer in door, tweet and mid in the kick. and 2 ID max 12's all powered by zapco amps. the tweeter will be running active i believe im not 100% on that but if u want call sounds impossible in atlantic highlands nj the guy is by far the best car audio guy on the east for SQ comp and sound comp. In fact i went to a comp recently wiht his crew and they litterally swept the competition and won first place in everything. it was amazing. u get what u pay for and ask to talk to bill

So what type of stuff should I be looking in to. I will most like put it in to shows and stuff but its really just for me. I take tons of driving with my family. So I want the sound to be good when I play my movies or my games. The tv don't matter right? if its cool I would put the link up for you to take a look if you want, they are 15" flip downs

Dude, TALK TO DON, he can set you up. Again, money is the KEY factor to how well you want your system to sound.

How much are you willing to spend?

again it falls into what you want to spend. Personally im into the old school class a/bs for powering highs, and ds for subs. cheap power exchange i guess. Alot of what will play into this is going to be installation, but i can really say that if your looking to level the alpines against diamonds, focal or even rainbows...itll be a sad day in sluggerville cause your pockets may hurt but itll be well spent.

Yea im going to wait and on the system until I speak with don on it. But I would like to start wiring up the tv and my other toys. Thats what I need powered now so what would be the best way for me to power all my stuff.
System wise I don't know if I just want to go with alpine cause I can get the type x stuff for dirt cheap. Im not trying to blow city blocks up with my system just want it to sound hot when I play my games and movies
