It's Finally In!!

I finally had my screen installed. GXE dash kit, 4th Gen pocket, KVT-915DVD mount in lower pocket. Tell me what you think. I'm not us to it so I think it looks a tad funny closed but real nice open. I also have the iPod interface.
CHECK IT OUT!!

does the screen have to block the cent a/c vents when on. Or could you have put the screen in a slot lower?

the screen is low as it can go with any dash kit...the lower din. looks great man! i think you will find the lower is by the the best way to go with flip out TV's in a 5th gen maxima.

I'm not sure how well it would work. But I replaced my flip open pocket with a sliding drawer (look a sig pic) Got it out of a 3rd Gen GXE. A little bit cooler and smoother flush mounting.

And you could always cut a notch in the back of drawer for you Ipod wiring. Just a suggestion. Looks good though.

If I had put it in the upper pocket it would have completely blocked the vent while opened up. In the lower pocket I still have functional use of the vent if I turned the blades up higher.

Thats nice too!! I'll keep that as an idea, only thing I see being odd is the angle of the dash. So the drawer would kind of open angled up slightly.

Yeah I noticed that too!! Its there because the installer cut a thin piece of plastic to sit just around the screen to hide the gaps and metal and it was a good idea, but now that won't allow the kit to sit flush. I'm getting it fixed later. I'm going to have them shave and shape it so it fit just inside the frame and not underneath.

actually, the drawer might come out almost perfect. It does sag down a little when the drawer is opened fully. Not sure exactly how close it would be though.

I was just wondering about putting it where the climate control is and put the pockets in that position, and moving the climate control all the way up to the vents.
I could have sworn I seen this done before on a 5th gen.. It still looks nice anyway.
