Bass owned me last night, or did Nissan own me?

so i was at a SOFL mini meet playing trillville-get some crunk in yo system and...

the mirror showed no signs of stress prior to this occuring...any chance Nissan will warranty this under powertrain? what are my options on this thing...can i fix it, or will i have to search junkyards until i find a new one? and no, i refuse to lower the bass.

edit: thanks Mike (E55AMG2) for the pix, and thanks to Gordon for hosting the pix.

don't lower the bass, lower the volume

i'd check local junkyards and see what you can find.

it was a joke because one, a mirror has nothing to do with powertrain, and 2, nissan would laugh at the reason i broke it and tell me to shove it.

I always wondered if something like that would happen. I think my mirror moves more than my subs do.

I've seen a system LITERALY tear apart a Jimmy. It was funny as hell, everyday my friend came into the vo-tech, something new was broken. It even broke part of his body paneling

Ain't nothin a little JB Weld can't fix. I finally set off an alarm yesterday with my 10's. First time driving with my windows down since I had the subs also.

ohh, I'll be getting pics tomorrow of my new setup. The box is pretty much built, they're working on a vent cover, then they'll cover the box with vinyl. Hopefully I can get a pic before they do that.

They're also trying to still wire my remote start/alarm in. It'll still be awhile. They only had 1 sub left, so they had to order some more. And they still have the dynamat and amp rack to do.

I talked with the guy working on my box a little while yesterday. We came up with a nice setup for the amps later on. Should look really tight.

jb weld dries into this gray color, so it might not match the color of the mirror. but jb weld hardens pretty damn solid!

same thing happened to my friend with his 02. He hot-glued it back on, and this time the mirror broke off again, BUT this time taking a piece of windsheild down with it.

Thats happened to a friend of mine he has a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue with 4 10w0s. He tried to use a repair kit from autozone and that didn't work so don't try that. I was worried it would happen to my car but for some reason my mirrors don't shake a whole lot and I got two L5s and a JL 500/1 for each. Are the 3rd gens mirrors just really good? I have a friend whos got a civic and all the mirrors rattle with his crappy system. He gives me crap about my mirrors not shaking but he drives a civic and is a dumbass.

your bass is not loud enough i have a 3rd gen too, and my mirror is useless above volume 16 (kenwood deck).

but yeah, i think having the mirror mounted on the roof like ours, versus slick's mirror that's mounted on the windshield plays a role on how much it vibrates.

My 4th Gen is on the roof. The glass still shakes and cannot see traffic behind me.

also the design of the mirror.. i have the auto dimming one which moves ALOT easier than the 5th gens without it. my cdts can make the mirror move if i want thats how weak the mirror is.

Just get rid of the mirror and put n a backup camera. It seems like the max mirrors r pretty tough, but I guess they can't take but so much. I need to get some enclosure plans for the Avalanche from u slick...I ordered a pair of Dual 4ohm 15's since the price was so good, but gonna start out installing just 1. All the money for the max seems like goes toward audio setups, these r the second subs I've had n the past 10 months. Guess I can actually use a loud system, rather than getting tickets using performance mods.

I'm glad u told me they're not availible n Dual 4...when I called to order the person that I placed my order with didn't sound like they knew what I was talking about when I asked about the VC config. Maybe since they're getting so much business due to the sub blow-out sale, they just hired a couple extra ppl to take orders? I just got my subs today and saw on the sales sheet where it had 15" dual 2ohm vc, which is ok. I was about to call and ask about it until I read the thread. I don't have to worry about getting a loud music ticket around here...no sound ordinance n the county . If someone complains they can only tell me to turn it down.
