Anyone have this unit installed. Just wanted to get some feedback from ppl about this unit.

Can DVD be used while driving?

Pics too if you have it installed.

Thanks

i'm very interested in the avn 5435 also. i have a 5th gen max and was curious as to how flush it mounts or does it stick out very much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also is it compatible with the steering wheel controls?

doesnt stick out much at all. dvd works while driving.

basically, the best all-in-one unit you can get right now.

igor, ive got pics of the 2454 installed if you'd like to see that, its basically the same thing

Haven't played with one yet. It looks like it makes up for some of the shortcomings of the AVN 2454. Better pre-amp and satellite control to name two.

You won't be able to have the dvd going while driving if you install it to spec...just like all other in-dashes...

Also, if it is like the 2454, you won't be able to use the dvd and nav at the same time anyway because they are both read from the same slot.

here u go man

this is the avn 2454
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~nbalani/CIMG0020.JPG
that gap up above it will be fixed shortly, theres a double din dash kit that eclipse makes that takes care of it

and this is one of my favorite pics cause the avn has auxiliary inputs, so i got some flushmount rca's from radio shack and did this:
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~nbalani/CIMG0020.JPG

the writeup for the rca can be found here:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=377748

lemme know if u need anything else

If it goes in much further, then the face would get stuck when opening. This would be the case with anything with a motorized face.

Don,
whats this dash kit he is talking about. I also have the same trim as he does, the 2k GXE kit.

That space between the navi and dash looks bad. Would it be easy to rewire this thing to work while in motion, dvd wise?

The bose radio sends out 2ohms to your speaker amps. The PAC adaptor converts the OHM. It uses RCA's. Pretty easy hookup. I forgot the model.

Search google for Nissan PAC bose.

Igor, it has nothing to do with the impedance. A PAC or any other adaptor just converts the signal into a usable RCA which can also be easily done by splicing in RCA leads to the signal wires from the back of the radio.

BTW..HUs dont 'send' Ohms.

Blah blah blah, i pretty much gave the correct advice to buy the PAC bose adaptor.

Maybe I'll pick it up at the NJ meet in a couple weeks
