Well i cant see my kenwood KDC-X859 in the daylight too save me.... plus one of its buttons needs repaired...but was wondering anyone have any input of HUs that can bee seen good in direct sun?.....and or what kind of displays in general can be seen well? unit must play MP3s..... i was considering the alpine 9855 and or the eclipse CD8445 but leaning towards the alpine just cause of price.... but have no idea if im going to get into the same visibility problem i have with the kenwood.....

 

My JVC Arsenal 5000 (AR-5000) has a screen that I can see very well in direct sunlight (sunny day with sunroof open). Other than my own HU I have never really seen one that holds up to direct sunlight, but that's only because my stereo-friends have tint and never really expose the unit to direct sun.

By the way, the 5000 was replaced with 5500 or something ... the new version reads SD cards. I know JVC sounds like a crappy brand but it impresses even the most acoustically enthused people I know, and I like working with it. Of course I am a bit bias, but I can honestly say I've never felt bad about spending 270 on it.
