03' max steering wheel controls

Hey guys, im about to have a new headunit installed, and i heard the trip computer/steering wheel controls dont work anymore once the stock bose headunit is taken out, is there any way to keep the trip computer and steering wheel controls working, is there any way to get the volume and seek buttons on the steering wheel controls work with a new sony headunit... it has a IR remote with it if that means anything...

Yes, the PAC SWI-X. Just look at the PAC website because there are a couple Sony decks it isnt compatible with. You wire it to the steering wheel controls and mounts its infrared eye, and when you push the steering wheel buttons, it emits the same frequency as your Sony remote control would, so essentially the radio thinks you are using its supplied remote control.

Once you take the factory radio out, there will be a clip that you will NOT reuse. It will have 4 cables and you would have to ground the brown cable. Some sugessted cutting and grounding, I tapped and grounded, just incase I wanted to return to stock.

Good luck
