Help with sub and amp please..
here is was i have:
----2, 12" sony xplod xs-L121PS subwoofers (I believe they are SVC and 4 ohm, but Im not too sure)
----1, 2-channel 1200 watt 401S Rockford Fosgate amplifier
My amp keeps shutting off after a few minutes of cruising and will continue to shut off and come back on. I can't figure out why it is shutting off and turning back on. I have been reading up on some stuff and see that my amp recommends a 4 ohm per channel at 100 watts x 2. My subs are 4 ohm recommended, but Im not sure if they are SVC or DVC.
-- I currently have the left channels + and - going to the left subs + and -. The right sub is connected to the right channels + and - and the connected to the + and - of the right sub. Basically, left channel is powering the left sub and the right is power the right, the subs are getting their signals individually from each channel (sorry, very long winded, but i don't want any confusion). What should the proper wiring be for my set-up.
--Can someone please look up the specs of my subs and amp and tell me the best way to hook them up according to the proper ohms recommended, like which wires go where.

The amp is stable both at 2 ohms x 2 and 4 ohms x 2, so it shouldnt be shutting off due to ohm load if its wired the way you say it is. The only reason it would be shutting off due to impedance is if it was running bridged at 2 ohms x 1. Check and make sure it isnt getting too hot, and the gains arent up too high.
^^That amp claims 200x2 RMS at 2 ohms, so the gauge power wire shouldnt be a problem either, although I didnt think of that.

its not the remote wire because one wire controls the remote signal for both my amps, so if that were the problem, then both amps would be shutting off. I adjusted the gains on the 1200 watt amp and my sub hasnt cut out on my yet today, but im keeping my fingers crossed... i think i might have figured out the problem.
I called Rockford Fosgate and the technical support dude said that my gains should be set about 1/4 up from minimum because of my 4v preouts on the back of my kenwood excelon HU...?? I went along with what he said and went ahead and adjusted the gains... so far so good! Let's see how long this lasts...lol
