Stage is wider and fuller having those 8's up front...a whole another world...

I'm so glad you're happy with the sound. I was toying around with the idea of eliminating my 3" mids and just using the 8s and the tweeters. The 8s are suitable for a 2-way setup according to Dynaudio. If I did this I would move the tweets up highter and get rid of the kick panels. Just a thought...nothing set in stone yet. I'm so happy with the way things sound I don't want to mess with a good thing, you know? Do you have your 8s high-passed, Manny?

Actually I was leaning on the Dyn 170's myself- I was assured they have awesome topend. But something made me want to try those Morels-their basket and mounting depth was more appealing(i remember you having to use 3/4" and 1/2" mdf together for rings). I have mine bandpassed using HU and amp-63hz 18db slope (from HU) to 2500hz(12db slope) LOW PASS on the amp- and the tweets picking up at 2500hz 6db slope(to achieve a total 18db slope from mid transition to tweet- by ear I felt this was best) I still have some play, not done tuning yet-my tweets are capable down to 1200 hz if needed, more of a reason why I went 2way.

Just be careful you're not stressing the tweets too much ... they're seeing very low frequencies (for the usable range for tweets). Not sure what the exact usable range is on the rainbow's but 2500Hz is already low for most tweets.

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know.

EDIT: I'm retarded. Just read the last sentence. The lower the tweet goes the more flexible it is and the better you can get it to blend with the mid ... nice setup ...

Manny, looking at your install, I disagree. You ARE that dedicated. I think our sedans would do fine. Honda Accords do well and there are plenty of Lexus's..SPL you have to hit a what...130 or 135 (gotta check my rulebook). With how clean your install is and how good it must sound, you are definately ready for a local IASCA comp...and who knows from there?

Read up on the idea of the rookie season. It is geared to give us recommendations to improve install, sound, and points. All about improvement and getting you to a point where you could then compete with the other more experienced folks....And look at the street section....You're not judged against the fiberglass gods and stuff, and your clean car will score well for install.

Supposedly it's a no hater crowd...not many kiddies there. I'm so excited to get started!

You want a cookie?

I perhaps dont give Don enough credit...My life being a constant 'time restraint' between business and family, hobbies get limited windows with only
time to execute...Don has always been game for my projects with a lending hand....even on his weekends.

Besides he has ALL the tools.....
