Hey man iam having problems with whine I currently have a Alpine headunit/2 amps -1 PG 2Ch/1 PG mono Connected by a distribution block i got a reall ybad alternator whine, also when the second amp got hooked up iam gettign whine even when the radio is turned off , i even took of the faceplate to ensure the radio is off any ideas i wanna finish but the whine is gettign to me is there any way to test if its the amp thanks ...
Are both amps grounded to the same point? Ground both to the same points and see if that changes anything. Also, were did you run the RCA's. Disconnect the RCA's(with all power off) and turn everything back on and see if it goes away. Another problem could be your HU ground, is it grounded to the car itself? Try doing these things and see if you can decipher were the problem is.

i had this problem with my car getting the alternator noise, make sure u have sanded the paint around the grounds, that was my problem

Dood ... check your ground AGAIN. Reground your battery and alternator with thicker wires, and make sure your ground wire is as thick as the power wire that runs to the back of the car.
Grounds should be free of wiggle room, rust, paint, dirt, etc. If you STILL have alternator whine, it could be coming from a loose RCA connector on your amp or outboard crossover or just a bad piece of equipment in general.
