You can buy an installation kit from any shop that installs car stereos.

mkay... another question on page 8 of this writeup:

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/647021.pdf

it mentions an "optional snap on wire harness" .. where do i get one of those? i called up local nissan parts dealer and they said a hardware store should have it.. but are all of them the same? i mean the one that came with the headunit i have doesn't fit the nissan connectors for sh*t..

i don't want to splice anything so any tips would be nice..

well

1. I got my Din kit off of ebay cuase they had it for cheaper and it fit/looked perfect with my car. When I tryed gettin it from Circuit City they gave me one that supposedly was supposed to be made for my car but even though it fit, it looked like sh*t. Reason being was it was made to fit my car and like 10 other different makes and models also.

2. The wire harness u could usually get at any electronic store (like best buy, circuit city.....) that sells car audio. I got it from Circuit city and it worked perfectly.

so far no place ive been to has what im looking for i keep getting redirected...

cross off 2 local hardware stores and Radioshak

so far the parts i need are:
1 screw (the one that you take out from the side of stock head unit)
1 wiring harness (to plug into the back of aftermarket headunit to merge with stock wiring.. eliminating splicing etc..)
1 Installation kit for headunit (plastic lining that goes around headunit to give it a stock look, because originally it sticks out of the dash setup by like a cm..)

... the hunt is still on

Update:

I went to best buy.. they had all 3 items, 2 of which were pretty over priced in my opinion.

Wiring harness = $18.50
Installation Kit = $18.50
1 screw (same size as the one in stock head unit) = .15 cents

you can pick which 2 items were over priced..

anyway i hope this thread helps anyone in the northeast area looking for supplies to install their own Headunit..

now to see if everything works :-D

Anyone who has an installation kit, how large is the extra pocket (height, width)?

Sadly, I don't live near anywhere that installs stereo systems over the summer, otherwise I would go measure them for myself.
