This amp on ebay is the one that I want to drive my mids/highs. Do you have any experience with buying refurbs/b stock? This is the lowest price I have seen and I have been looking for a while.

depends upon who did the refurbing. I'm one of those picky guys who only like having work done by me. Not bad of a price... but still no warranty. And while it's only a $140.... I'd rather save that $140 for something I know would have one. Way cheaper in the long run

I had a B-stock DEI Viper d11005 5 channel amp (75x4 and 600x1) and it did better than the original one I bought (brand new - when it broke it was replaced with a B stock). I have also had other good B stock experiences with portable phones, motherboards, etc.

I don't think they're so bad. People who are SO concerned simply won't buy them ... keeps the price cheap for people like me

If it was repaired by Kicker I would take it. BTW: I think thats the same guy on Sounddomain. Very trusted individual, I can send you the link for his stuff FS. You would pay double that at a dealer, I think of it this way, If it does break, you can buy another one in which event it woulda still cost you the same price as if you bought it at the dealer. Kicker makes good amps IMO, treat it right and it should be wonderful.

Everytime I get ready to buy this amp and some cdt components something bad happens. Last time my car got beat up by a hail storm and my tranny started leaking gear oil cause of bad differential bearings. This morning I backed into some civic on accident . It really didn't do anything to my car except some cracked looking paint on the bumper if you look real close but the civic has a giant crack in the bumper and Im gonna have to replace it. I could just turn it into insurance but I might try to pay for it out of pocket to keep my insurance rates from going up. I can't catch a break lately. Hopefully this guy will continue to sell these refurb kickers on ebay for a while so I can catch it later. Thanks for the replies.

You should still be able to catch it, the year is still rather "young". I haven't really had any problems with b stock especially the higher name brands.

As long as its coming from an authorized Kicker Refurb online dealer you should have no worries- contact Kicker first. I'd look into an extended factory warranty for peace of mind...90 days isnt much.

That sux man ... good luck on that. Hopefully it won't cost too much to replace the guy's bumper. Even though its a civic ure still gonna have to replace the bumper and paint it which'll prolly add up. But anywayz hopefully everything works out

btw...bstocks way better than refurb...bstock is normally just cosmetic blemishes or demoed by dealers-never consumer used, refurbs actually had operating problems through consumer use.

But couldn't those cosmetic blemishes lead to operating problems depending on how the blemish was done? At least you know that with a refurb the operating problems have been fixed. With a blemish you may start to wonder if something may go wrong in the future.

Either way you have 90day warranty- in that case they are the same shyt...

But a refurb might have been used for 6months and then blown a power supply(for example)- a repair on such will replace just whats broken, but perhaps other parts that took some damage and wear(but not broken) during that episode are left behind and can be the cause for future failure.

Most b stocks are just a small scratch on the heatsink or end caps, some that way from the factory during assembly process- just noticeable enough that a customer who is paying for a new amp is expecting a flawless condition product and wont pay retail for. So they lower the price, and therefore lower your warranty so they do not 'lose' $$ in the end.
