My new amp install - false floor

Here's a link to the false floor I made for my maxima. It turned out better than I could have imagined, even though I am too lazy to finish it and make it look really nice. I've decided just to leave the carpet on top and keep it hidden. Now I want to rebuild my sub box to flush against the side of my trunk so that my car is stealth with exception to the head unit up front.

I've been thinking about an Eclipse to replace my MTX sub amp as well, but I've heard that they don't have the best output. I have a 4 channel Eclipse for my seperates, but have been told that for running subs, they aren't the best choice. What has been your impression so far with the Eclipse?

I've got an Eclipse powering my two 12's. It works very well. Plenty of juice.

Why do you want to replace your MTX?

So far no problems with cooling. I drove around with it for a week with it screwed to the spare tire cover with the carpet on top. No probs then. No probs now after I made that location permanent. Keep in mind, it can vent itself a little bit since I only put wood railings on two sides to support the plexiglass.

I just chose this amp because my mtx is STILL at good guys being repaired. If they dont give me store credit by the time this is over, its going on ebay. The eclipse was the cheapest 5 channel amp/solution I had come across worth considering and it was readily available. I was very tempted to jump on a 2 amp setup and spend a lot more and go really high end but I'm fresh out of college, so I should be saving my money now for a house...I'm proud of myself...lol

looks nice man, i need to do something like that soon, i was thinking about getting this kicker 4 channel cause it has its own cooling fans buf if heat isnt really an issue (prob not not unless u are driving subs to the max) i might go with the infinity but...

it looks sweet
