Problem with radio (smoking)!!

My aftermarket radio was on the fritz and cd's kept getting stuck (Power Acoustik PA-DVD130 am/fm/dvd/cd/mp3 player). I purchased a new one on ebay (the same radio as the first) and the AM/FM portion wouldn't work. When i installed a new radio again.....at first everything was alright, but then after a while....it started smoking. Once again with this new radio, every other feature works but the AM/FM. what could it be? Each radio was the same so i used the same harness. (The AM/FM on the original radio was working.) Any ideas on what it could be?

Answered your own question Ive fried an amp or two of theirs in my day.

Ive seen this happen either when a) the radio is just fried internally or b) wiring is incorrect, like sending 12v to the radio's ground wire.

Good luck.
