ohms of amp?
im looking for a new amp..but some dont even list what ohms they're stable to. does this mean that theyre stable to any?
i have a 900w 12" visonik 4ohm single VC
i dont know what amp specs i should be looking for...the last system i had worked fine, regardles of me knowing any specs like this.
im looking at ;
Amplifier Output Details 300 Watt - 2 channel(s) Â
600 Watt - 1 channel(s)
active crossover, Gold plated connectors, thermal protection, overload protection, short circuit protection.
if my sub is 4ohms, will any amp work??
if not then i dont know how to tell if this amp is 40hm stable.
this sucks!
thanks alot for any help

sounds like a typical 2 channel amp that "allegedly" doubles power at 4 ohms mono or two ohms stereo....in which case my answer would be yes.
I guess I'd say that I don't know of a car audio amp that isn't 4 ohm stable, but you'd of course wanna make sure you're getting the max power the amp was designed for. (like you wouldn't want to get a typical type Class D sub amp that puts out max power at 1 ohm mono, cause you would't see jack at 4 ohms mono.
Got a name and model number/link to the amp?

i know it's not very high end but i dont want to spend alot
thanks for the help though. i had a hunch that most amps can handle 4ohms because it was standard or somehting. i dont know anything though.
also i just want to bridge this sub. if that makes a differance?

Actually, you're bridging the amp...to run mono...to the one channel (speaker) your running.
Resisting temptation to steer you towards other amps......but I will say this.....There is no regulations as to how amps are rated/reported, so a car audio amp that claims to put out 500,,1000, or whatever watts may not necessarily be doing so. Pyramid doesn't have the best reputation, though I must admit I haven't tried one personally.
Yes, thats a standard 2 channel amp that should be fine at 4 ohms mono. The should part has to do with the build/part quality/heat dissapation and such.
