I think this is a great Mod, especially for cold winters, however I heard the only down side is that you may loose your crusie control capability. It's been about a year since I spoke with someone about this, so I hope other Org members who may have had this conversation before will chime in...

i had an auto start installed along with my alarm on my max. no drawbacks and i miss that feature on my max. down side was it was expensive but well worth it. mine was about $700 but included all the features on the remote to be done by my cell phone. also had GPS and a lojack type of system. deffiently loved it for the winter.

I just did it this weekend. It's great! I bought an Audovox APS996A with the remote start and sattlite link. The alarm has 8 outputs for all your electronic needs. The remote start has a feature that allows you to leave your car on while going in the store alarmed and locked. The key pad remote is LCD and alerts you if someone brakes in. If someone does break in as soon as they hit tghe brake the cars dead. The CL100 Sattlite link allows you to arm, disarm, unlock, lock, remote start, remote kill the car from your cell phone. There was an extra module I bought to eliminate goint to the harness in the drivers door. The install time was 5 hours. I got the complete system at dealer cost because a friend does it for a living. He also installed it for me. I'm going to guess that the complete system should cost you about 500.00 to 600.00 out the door. The CL100 sattlite link was 150.00 with lifetime usage. No monthly fees. Thumbs up to Audovox for putting out a great product!
