I had just turned my car on and the volume was on 16 and there was a dmx song on, I heard a very small pop then i noticed the bose sub was not working. I havent taken it to the deal not sure if i want to since it will prob just happen again. I searched for links and other threads and im not finding what i want.

What does everyone recommend. In almost all the threads i see people say they are on a tight budget. Well i dont really care. I dont want to drop a $1000 id rather stay in 500-700 but who cares. Im not looking to put subs and a box in my trunk id rather not do that. The stock sound was clear but there wasnt enough bass. I think my 01 vw system was much better. Could i just upgrade the speakers and recieve some nice quality? Or must i get another sub???

What would someone with some experience recommend?

 

If you like the Bose mids and highs, then yeah, Id say get a small amp and an IB (infinite baffle-on the rear deck in the bose spot) 8" sub, especially on that budget. Personally, I hate Bose, and IB wouldnt be enough bass for me, but thats all up to you and your goals with your own setup. The only way to keep the factory radio and upgrade the speakers is to run a 4 channel amp off high-low converters, which Ive done plenty of, and havent had a single one sound good for the money spent. If you want to upgrade everything, then look to spend a little more than that, if you just want something to go in place of the fried Bose sub, then buy an 8 and an amp from Don
