Jvc Kd-dv5100

Anyone own a JVC KD-DV5100? I'm planning on purchasing one to replace the stock head unit and I'd like some feedback on it. Also, is this head unit plug and play compatible with the 7" Microvision screen?

Thanks.

Yea, I purchased one earlier this month and have it installed with a microvision screen. Has worked good for me so far. Have had no problems.

did you need an antenna adapter?
or did the antenna plug directly into the new head unit

Does the 4th gen have a diversity antenna?
Also, can I install the radio into the bottom flip down pocket, or does that require breaking that pocket off

I had to buy an additional antenna adaptor for like 15 bucks from circuit city. And yea, the radio does where the pocket is. You don't "break" the pocket out. When you take out your stock unit you will see what i mean. It screwed on so all you do is you need to screw it out. The most painful part is taking out the screws from the stock unit that's bolted onto the bracket. I had to drill mine out.

It is a PITA to take the screws out of the bose HU, but they will come out. The JVC unit will fit in the pocket slot. I bought my antenna adapter at Walmart for like $5-10. We just put one of those 5100s in my buddy Montero. It's a very nice radio. I'm concidering buying one myself. Having the DVD player under the seat sucks. IF you really want to go with this deck, check out the one in the link below. It's the same unit, but has more pre-outs and they are 5v instead of 2.5v. I believe this one also has dual zone. NOt a bad deal for a few dollars more. Good luck.

I ordered the 5100 with harness and antenna adapter for $230 shipped from thezeb.com They've got mixed reviews but I'm willing to wait an extra day or two.

Can anyone recommend a decent pair of replacement tweeters? I'm looking to replace the stock ones considering I don't have an amp and my system isn't Bose.
Thanks Again
