2.25 cu inch box question.

Hey every one. i curently am running a alpine mrd-350 with my 12' infinity sub. The box i have was custom made and is about (im guessing) 1.5 cu.(Ported) now if i were to get a 2.25 cu inch vented box, would it do me any good in terms of cleaner/deeper bass? or better yet louder bass? Will there be enuff air coming out of the box?. The amp runs 200-300 watts at 4 ohms. I notice some rattling from my sub. I think its the screws bolting the sub in are vibrating on the sub itself. Should shorter screws fix that problem. And...I notice that there is a "FLplpp" noise coming out of my port. I used a 3 inch to 4inch pvc pipe from home depot to port my box. Should i just get a 2.25 cu inch box professionally built. Or should i just try to fix my old box. Oh yea. and would a sealed box be any good for the wattage i am putting out?
Theres alot of questions i know.. im just a newb at this stuff. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

ported will be louder than sealed, but the bass response won't be nearly as accurate.

as for the port noise, try rounding off the edges a bit to help reduce the air turbulance.

not as accurate in musical reproduction...but ported can sound just as tight and clean as sealed if done right.
