Mass Loaded Vinyl For Dampening = 100% Satisfaction
As some of you have known, I was experiencing some heavy duty dampening issues with the trunk lid of my car. Well I went to a place here called Extreme Sound Proofing. They carry a variety of products that help with dampening/deadening. One of these products is called mass load vinyl. It's pretty thick and acts a sound barrier. I applied some to the trunk lid, actually mounting it with Dynamat Extreme, and boy what a difference it has made. It's almost scary as to the dampening properties this thing has. They have a website at www.yahoosoundproofing.com. Check them out, as they carry a variety products for sound proofing your car or house.

Glad it worked for ya. Definately add a review to the stickied thread. Pure dampening isn't complicated....You're just adding weight. Anything thats gonna adhere well to the metal/each other and add weight will work. Extreme stickyness is a must. When I was 17, I deadened the majority of a car, multiple layers, using dynamat regualr and a heat gun. NEVER AGAIN! Great they have a sample pack too. I'd love to see an impartial analysis of the real sticky mats..then do a weight to price ratio and see what the best deal is. Seems theres so many contenders out now. Thisseems to be one.
As for the foams that absorb acoustic energy, thats another story. It's great to see more companines such as this one, of course raamaudio, and others offering sound absorbing foams at more reasonable prices than dynamat product.
1" thick too? wow...Sounds good for floors/home audio/studio, but can't adhere to well to crevecaces in a car audio setting.
Definately post a review!
Whoa, I gotta get a sample pack and see what they have! Looks like a lotta stuff to choose from!

Glad to hear you took care of that issue Will . I will have to go check them out.
I usually get all these weird noises from the back. I then dig around and find small toys, marbles, candy, etc in the door handles.

Thanks bro. Gotta swing by your pad and let you see the final results. Now I'm about to start on the wheel wells and the doors. Plus I'm redoing the Big 3 with 4 gauge wire. I originally did it in 8 but noticed that it didn;t really make a difference. I'm actually torn between 4 and 2 gauge but the 2 I know will be hard to work with. Sounddomain is your best friend I noticed.
