Why would you replace the Bose system in your car with another Bose system?

Just go aftermarket and be happier.

having bose makes things a pain in the ***, but as long as you are up for its worth replacing every inch of the old system

Well then, it's not that hard just time consuming - lots of speaker wire to run.

And if u go amps, then you've gotta run power wire too.

I am thinking of doing the same thing. Any tips on how/where to run the wires?

if your slick and not above using the factory wires these are the steps.

Remove your radio. Put in the wiring kit.

Open the doors, remove the amps. The wires that are exposed there run to the tweeter in the door. These run to the back of the radio (IE Now your wiring harness). Extend those wires in the door to your new speakers in the door.

To get power to these wires you run all amplifier wire to the area behind your headunit and plug in behind the radio to the factory wires. So in a sense

Amp------Factory wires behind Radio----Through wires in door---FACTORY AMPLIFIER Eliminated so signal is straight to speakers now

I used the plastic mounting cup until i did a 1.5 inch spacer (dual 3/4 inch mdf rings, with deadener inbetween then siliconed to the door) which the speakers mounted to. My wires ran into the xover then out to the factor location for the wiring. I have some updated pics if you need a bigger one.
