Why is my amp blowing fuses?

I'll start off by saying that I'm an audio novice. Know how to install a sytem but don't really know any troubleshooting yet.

So I installed some subwoofers and an 300 watt amp in my car. As soon as I turn the car on, the fuses blow on the amp. I have a 4g power cable running into a splitter down to two 8g cables, one powering my 300w amp for my speakers and the other for the subs. The speaker amp runs fine. What could be causing this to happen and how can I fix this?

The fuses on the amp or the fuses on your distribution block, if you're even using one?

I have a distribution block but the fuses are blowing on the amp. The d-block seems fine though since my other amp is still receiving power.

Check your speaker wires to make sure that they are not shorting out. This could make your amp go into protection mode.

the power and the ground are in the right place. Where is the best grounding point in a 4th gen?

Directly to the chassis. Grind off paint at the grounding point, as well as the gold plating on your ring terminal.

So I re grounded the amp using the grounding spot behind the backseat that my first amp is grounded too. Since my other amp still works fine I know that grounding is no longer the issue.
What happens now is that the amp will turn on for about a second and then blow the fuses. This is leading me to belive it to be an actual electrical problem with the amp. How much would it cost to get an amp repaired?
