Tweeters cut out, high vol. only with Heavy rock?

Hey all.....im having some tweeter issues...... both my front tweeters cut out when im playin rock at high volumes......its pretty annoying cause they play such a key part in the sound...... it doesnt do it with rap or anything else that ive noticed...but itll play fine for a little bit, then they cut off(the tweeters that is) the 6.5s still work fine(orion p6.2 component set) in order to get them back i gotta turn the volume way down....then when i turn it back up they are back....but will cut out again at high volume............ any ideas whats wrong???? bad tweeters maybe? can u replace just the tweeters from a component set and use the same crossovers???

thats tweeter protection...turn the eq down, volume down, or gains down, or all 3. if your xover's didnt have this you would have no tweets right now.

what h/u is it and what volume do you play it at? you can still clip a signal with 1/4 gains.

turn off all loudness, SLA, and put the eq from roughly 5k and up on flat...play it at the same volume and let us know how it sounds. if its not loud enough try boosting some of the frequencies from roughly 5k to +1 only. maybe try a boost at 10k. i honestly dont know which frequencies the 13 band eq controls on that unit.

yeah id try turning the sla off and leave the eq settings if you are playing it at volume 30-35. the sla is basically another volume **** so chances are you are clipping the amp.
