Radar Detector Mount

I was wondering if anyone had tried one of these radar detector mounts, or something similar. I would like to mount mine on the rear view mirror like this, but $45 is pretty freaking expensive. If there are no less expensive versions out there, I'll probably go with the velcro on the mirror, but I like how this suspends the detector just below the mirror for better range.

They have them with the "Z" logo, but I would want a plain one: less attention so hopefully less of an invitation to steal.

Here's a pic:

The main reason I'm looking is that I hate the sticky mess that goes along with velcro tape and high temperature (our old maxima has a nasty streak on the dash from where the glue on the velcro melted and ran).

Hi, I am the owner of the zee mount.
This mount was originally custom built for the 350z and became such a success that we started producing plain ones for other cars. It is made by a person who builds (from the frame up) DSR's and then races them. He is about as good a craftsmen as you can ever get.

It will probably out last your car.

Granted this mount is not for everyone........but Im sure you might find something at walmart or kmart.

Ya'll have a nice day.
