4th Gen BOSE Question
4th Gen BOSE Question
Hey all. On my '96 SE is the BOSE system all contained in the head unit. I mean is the amp all onboard the head unit? I ask because i am about to replace my headunit because i am having problems with the amp. I had some guy tell me that each speaker was individuall amped and that the amps were not located at the headunit. So if this is try then changing my headunit would not help me at all.
Any info would be great.
Thanks.

my problem is this. The amps seem to just come on and off at will (power wise) I know this because i can hear the sound fizzle out when the amps power is cut. Then they might come on in a little while, then again, might not.
Anyone heard of this problem?
YOu think it could be some kind of control unit in th headunit that is causing the amps to loose power? They are all going dead at the same time, so that would tend to make be believe it is something in the headunit.
THoughts Please
Hi all, first time posting and I need some help =/
I have a 98 Maxima and I am replacing the Bose system in it.
I'm taking out the bose and going aftermarket
I have alrdy replaced the HU and back speakers, and everything worked fine.
So now i'm replacing the front speakers. 6 wires plug into the amp/speaker. I opened up the old speaker and found which ones were - and + but when I plug them into the new speaker I get nothing. So, I looked again and they have - and + going into the speaker as well as 2 others going from the speaker into the amp.
So I took both sets(4 wires) and hooked it back up liek ti was with the bose, aka new speaker running through the old bose amp, and it works.
My ? is, will this dmg the new speaker? And if so, how do I put the new speakers in.
I had this problem in the back, 4 wires per speaker, but with those I just found the + and - and pluged those in, and left the other 2 out.
If anyone could help me that would be great,
Thanks again
Sorry about posting in here, I cant make a new thread
Found Ill need to rewire it, is there a guide around or any info no that?
