I was using my friends zapco 1100 watt.
I want something similar.

 

We need a budget. I personally have marked out to Diamond Audio's amps. I don't know of any other company with the nuts to offer a lifetime warranty. I personally have the D61500.1. 0 issues. You will pay more b/c you would have to buy it from an authorized dealer. Worth every penny. It would run you between $800-$900 depending on the dealer. Another optiojn is the D6100.1. A bit cheaper and will still wake every bit of those L5's up.

 

Arc xxk2500(class a/b) or xxk1500d (class T)

or throw a Kicker SX1250.1 on it

lol , you originally said 'comparable'.....That Zap is +1000rms rated class a/b...That JL is half that power. IMO if you want killer performance from those L5's you need more juice.

I recommend Arc, because Arc chief engineer/designer is Rob Zef (the Z in Zapco) You asked for comparable to the Zap Reference, heres comparable build/performance/design amplifier substantially less.

 

first, what ohm woofers do you haver? This will help find an amp that will do max power into the porper ohm. Like a Kicker KX12001 does max into a 1 ohm load, but if you have two DVC 2's, it won't work, etc
