2 12" Alpine Type R subs, need amp!

Hey yall. I have 2 12" Alpine Type R Subs (1000 watts each) 4ohm subs. I have them in a ported box. I had a coustic amp to them before and I blew the amp after a few months cause it couldnt take the speakers power. Can you help recommend me to a Good amp that will make these babies earth for around $200 or less? Help me out here, im lookin for either Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, or even MTX. It really dont matter what kind in general, I have been looking at these 3 namebrands. Really need an amp ASAP. Any name is fine, just give me specs. Thanks

Nick

hmm...it's usually the other way around...the speaker doesn't have "power"....the amp does. the wattage rating is usually the thermal handling of the sub.

anyhow, if you want cheap power, look into hifonics. they're a bit cheaper than the 3 brands you listed. a 1200 watt hifonics brutus can be had for less than $200 on ebay.

You won't get anything that great for that money. Save up more money and get something with more power and higher quality.

I think hifonics is pretty good for the money, I haven't really heard of any problems out of their amps. You pay high money for alpine wattage compared to others but an mrd-500, or mrd-501 will make those things bump. I'm partial to mtx or coustic when it comes to money though.
