Eclipse poops on Pioneer Again...

For the N2 fans, you could always wait for the Eclipse AVN7000. Which of course lives up to all of Eclipse higher quality standards as well as having all the typicals..CD/DVD/MP3 and an onboard 20G HD & Memory Stick Duo. This would of course not be a double as I stated comparing to the N2s, but is a flipout with detachable panel with front display while the unit is closed.

Of course this is an All in one unit. No hideaway brain crap.

Still of course ahead of Pioneer with their 24 bit DACs,5V/55Ohm preouts.

Although when adding the DCU105 Audio Video Matrix things change up a bit...

Parametric Pro mode
Crossover Pro
Time alignment
DTS 5.1
Dolby Digital II
All useable with the E-iServe network as well.

Are you talking about pioneer in general or are you talking about pioneer's screen?

I didn't know eclipse had more than one 24 bit dac??

Just to specify with the "pro" modes...The HU itself has timealignment,PEQ,etc. When used with the DCU105 it adds a bit more in terms of an adjustable Q with 3 steps of narrow to wide. Auto timealigment by vehicle size, speaker size, etc. Also has aligment compatible with 3 way fronts. Adjustable crossover slopes in 6/12/18/24.

Appears to me a be all end all Navi/DVD unit for audiophiles...

Comparing to the AVIC-N2.

sorry its habit when typing I add the 's' on DAC. Its actually "Advanced" 24 bit DAC.

I LOVE eclipse but it doesn't come close to the p9.

That screen sounds bad a$$. All that in a single din plus no extra brain

No but pretty damn good considering NAVI/DVD/Screen.

The P9 combo is hands down a great unit, as well as the Clarion 9255. But Ill stick to analog outboard processing.

Sorry Eclipse believes in function over form, not the other way around. Doesnt make it a "bad design" just not to your taste. Although PLEASE show me something better.

Sure did, just can't understand a darn thing .

As for the looks, I think it's ok. Pretty cool to have all of those features built inand without the need for a brain install somewhere else.

I think it looks very classy. Refined in comparison to their other lines. One thing I do not like is the long line of features listed to the bottom left of the screen. It takes your eyes tward that side. That would be my only cosmetic judgement. I would want one.

I just saw the pics/catalog for this thing yesterday. "poop" is an understatement. This thing kicks everything I've seen out of the water. 1.8inch hard drive...same size that Ipods use, and sooo many other cool features.

I just think its amazing how they fit it all in one unit. I can only imagine how dense it is in there.

Don, get back to my phone calls man...

Make sure to get it insured.

I know you guys praise Eclipse > to any other car A/V companies especially Pioneer. But there prices tend to be higher and they appear more exclusive than pioneer. I mean you can find pioneer at most shops where Eclipse seem to be less common.

What are the sales comparisons like?

I like both companies. I choose Eclipse b/c of the warranty.

I also wonder about the sales differential. I assume Pioneer would be in the lead as the internet sales and the market saturation. You can pick up a Pioneer deck just about anywhere. And don't forget the pretty dolphins.

Looks like from 1990s. Pioneer looks better to me. But in other way around, looks aren't always the issue though, I agree with that.
