How do you hook up woofers in an '02?

Hey Handy Helpers, I tried searching this topic, but it wouldn't let me....so I have just purchased a, '02, SE, with the Bose CD6, I love it, but y'know, there is never enough bass. And since I took my woofers and amp out of my 4th gen, I would like to hook them into my 5th Gen. My only question is...was Bose kind enough to give us Audio outputs, in the form of RCA cables, on the back of this unit? I don't wanna start tearing into the dash, only to find out that I am going to have to rig it with the audio wires. Thanks in advance, I know someone will come through for me!

I may be wrong on this one, but on my 2000 w/ bose there is no way to hook up an external amp/sub to the stock head. If you want to replace the head, many people suggest doing so, but just know that you will also have to replace every speaker and wire from the stock audio system. I agree that stock bass isn't enough even with the bose system, but unless you're planning on dumping some major cash into the audio department, you're not going to be able to get better sound.

Nice Ride Zero Max! You to Kruppa, I figured you would have top do something like buy another adapter to plug into the BOSE. I can do the install myself on things like that.

I just now got around to testing out my CD6, and I am confused about something, When I Play Mike Jones, or Jay-Z, the black album, sound only comes out of the right speakers! I tried adjusting the balance, but there is nothing there, like the player is only reading the right side audio, I put an old, "70's CD in and it played both left and right...those other discs aren't bootleg, or MP3's they were fine in my other Max....wassup wit dat?

bose has a known issue with left side of the speakers cutting out. you have to replace the head-unit, or go aftermarket if there is no warranty left. this usually happens on all sources though, radio, cd, etc. more often it just cuts out when listening ot all cds, or all radio stations.

When people buy their PAC does it come packaged with the necessary wires to install from sub to HU to amp and so on? Just curious, I've done some research but gave up because i'm not sure if I wanna keep my BOSE HU but budget wise i might! :-X

Look for those pieces.

Pac brand:
ADD-NIS2
AMP-RCA
OEM-1

Once you have that, it'll connect directly to the back of the HU. From there, you'll just run new wires to an aftermarket amplifier. You'll bypass your factory amp completely.

Might also want to think about replacing the BOSE speakers as well (unless you can find an inexpensive high current amp. Bazooka makes a decent one.)

I thought getting the Pac oem-1 kit was only used for an aftermarket headunit. otherwise if it's just stock, you'll only need an audio line output converter. am i wrong?

Yes, this is wrong.

It is suggested to change the HU, but not at all needed. Neither is replacing all of the speakers, nor is buying and adaptors.

A simply splice with RCA leads from the speaker output section of the HU itself will give you preouts to power your amp(s). Works perfectly fine and costs a small fraction of an "adaptor".

Is it possible to keep BOSE HU but replace speakers and sub with aftermarket and amp them?
