My dad has an '02 nonbose and it sounds terrible and I am not that big of a sound quality person. I think your best bet would be to replace it with aftermarket, but if you didn't want to go that route, I am sure there are lots of people with their OEM unit that they are looking to sell. From what I hear the '02 Bose isn't so hot either. Good luck. I'm kinda in the same situation with a non fuctional head unit.

Try some lube, get her to relax and take it slow..... but for real, I assume you're out of warranty? If not make the dealer fix it. If you're out.. You could try taking it apart if you're so inclined. But seriously i would go ahead and invest in a new headunit. They're pretty cheap and you have a lot more upgrade options for the future.

did you check the for sale forum here? I'd check that and also put in a "want to buy". I know someone has to be selling a stock unit.
