pioneer amps

pioneer amps

i know not the greatest,but need a little extra bump. I just have one question, the amp works good but when i bridge it, the amp cuts out. If i turn down the volume then it starts over till i turn it up again. any ideas. the amp model number is GM-520T. 760 watts thanks LOST

sounds like you have your subs wired down too low of a load for the amp to handle. a lot of amps are only stable down to 4 ohms when bridged. anything lower and it'll go to protect mode to prevent damage to itself.

what sub(s) are you running and how are they wired?

audiobahn 12's dont know model # but rated for about 1200 watts. Thats what my buddy who sold them to me said. running in stereo

How many ohms are the voice coils on the sub?

I had this same problem with a pioneer 800watt 2002 model(firestarter recall amp). I had to turn the gain down but it only helped a little. I finally disconnected it, and threw it in the closet and went with something else. I had to use it earlier this year for a few months and it doesn't do it any more. I'm thinking it was a ground problem which I did find out later that my 4 ga. ground was soming loose. Once I took care of that everything was good an no more cutting out.

it only cuts out when he bridges the amp, that's why i'm suspecting low impedance problems for the amp.
