JVC, worth it?

I've been searching far and wide for a head unit for under $300. I found this one on Crutchfield, and it looks like a decent buy. Any opinions from all you experts?

That looks good, plays MP3's and has preouts for an amp. That's all that matters, IMO.

Personally, the way I choose headunits is how it looks. All I need is for it to play CD/MP3s, sound better than stock (anything will sound better than stock, lol), and match my interior. With that in mind, I just ordered one of these for less than 200 shipped. You can change the color of the screen to anything you want and it doesn't look all wacky/futuristic like most HUs.

I just bought that exact same HU (AR-860) from Crutchfield last week and already installed it. I think it's great, and I'm very happy with it. Sounds a LOT better to me than the stock Bose it replaced. I would say you won't be sorry if you buy that unit.

if you want a jvc get a digifine, i love mine, of course someone broke it trying to steal it, so now the same mp3 cd is stuck in there and i have to listen to it until i buy a new one.

JVC digifine kd-sh707 is what i got, i think they have newer ones now

I believe it stands for Victor company of Japan but anyway I haven't had any problems with my unit which is 5 years old now. My Victor home stereo is 10 years old and still runs perfectly. My next unit will definitely be a JVC.

I had a JVC mp3 player...it was the best. Affordable and still played everything I stuck in it.

I like JVC as well. The DVD-mp3 unit is a very nice piece and very affordable too. Never had any problems with JVC here.

I know this isn't car audio related, but I had a JVC home stereo and it worked pretty good actually.

the 5100 has only one preout on it so you need the cossover to make it send more then one signal or get the arsenal version
