switching 2000 nonbose to bose?

hey guys, my 2000 SE has the non-bose stereo in it, i want to swap the entire system for a bose system. changin the speakers, amp, sub, HU, is this hard to do? i heard the wiring is a headache and makes it not worth it, this option of changing to a stock bose system will save me alot of money, thanks in advance

Do you already have the Bose System? If not, it might be cheaper to get something aftermarket and it will sound better.

I'm getting everything BOSE out of my Maxima next tuesday, but you'd definitely be better off getting aftermarket stuff.

Bose stereo owners not satisfied?

I was thinking of keeping the head unit because I listen to my portable MP3 player (non-iPod) exclusively. Maybe a Fosgate amp, JL subs, mids, and tweets. I have a FM trans. for the MP3, but would be interested in a better interface.

Any suggestions?

Bose is horrible. Look around for a head unit that has an aux input. You can use a RCA to mini jack cable to connect the MP3 player to the HU. The mini jack will plug into the headphone jack on your MP3 player and the RCAs will connect to the HU. This is how I'm connecting my ipod to my Eclipse HU. The sound is definitely better than FM transmitter.
