Drill a hole through the Firewall, run the wire under the carpet up the seat, and pull it out into the trunk.

firewall is the huge metal piece that seperates the engine from the passenger compartment. you shouldn't be gettin water in the engine compartment anyways. You can drill through it. But i don't think you have to. i think you have a fairly large hole down around the bottom of the firewall already, but that might just be the autos. One of the 4th gen guys would have a better idea of the location. If you decide to drill it's pretty easy, just be sure to use a grommet.

there is no hole in a 4th gen for power wire...well, let me take that back...there is supposedly a hole if you remove the front left weel, and the skirting inside the wheel well and all that...which i think is too much work...just drill a hole (where the clutch pedal would be if its an auto, if not...find a spot!) drill a hole, run your power wire, and then seal it back up if you want...silcone or whatever works for you.

i drilled (this was before i knew i can run it through an existing hole in the firewall). but always use a grommet to prevent any sharp edges from cutting into the wire's insulation.

here is a nice hole to run your power wire in 4th gen maxima up to 2 gauge can fit without modification/drilling etc - just remove the rubber plug
