High Output alty or 2nd battery

So my alty died so i dono if i should get a high output alternator or get a regular alty and buy another yellow top. Whats in the car is 3 JL W6s 10inch, 2 amps, 6 inch screen, and ps2, with a decently large ac/dc converter. Just looking for input on what to do and if you think go high output alty where is a good place to get them from and possibly installed near Philly?

Just to give some back up of what happend last night i was driven home and had to go through 3 batteries to get home since the alty is shot.

don is PearlMax 96 hes the admin for this forum. you can pm him or he'll pop in eventually. personally, speed it up and pm him
you can go with alot of different options, theres another post floating around in the forum on it from a couple weeks ago as well, see if you can find it...big help. I would also have to say with a second battery it will be an additional strain and can play into your alts early demise and possible death of the other battery as well . do it right and isolate them if you do do a second, but best to have the peace of mind.

I believe Don is a Ohio Generator dealer. Personally, I'd prolly consider having him do it for me if I went that route as well, as I'm not one comfortable with changing alternators.....

How much would you charge to change the alternator? Just to let you know the supercharger might be in the way. But i can easily take out the piping so it will be alittle easier to get to.

Are you serious?? You're definitely capable of changing an alternator. Some other people might not be though.

Changing an alternator in a maxima is easier than installing an amp....should have no problem at all.....

You need some confidence. jk

6:27 is pretty fast

I can do the whole job (old out, new in) in about 20 min (taking my time and not rushing). It's sooo easy.

Well people are telling me that i might not need a HO alternator since the system isnt that big. The amps are both prescison power 600.2 series. I really dont have any more time to be with out a car so do you guys think that i would be alright to get the stock alternator and a cap.

if u run 2 batteries and a stock alt its going to put alot of strain on it. better to have one good charged batteries than 2, 1/2 charged ones.

haha yea i want to but i dont think he said they have the interest for 10 people for the group deal so ill end up just getting it for $365. I emailed him to let him know what was up. I talked to pepboys and they wanted 219 + 35 until i gave them my core back. If i can get this HO one then its worth the extra 100 bucks.

well, i think there are about 6 or 7 in the gd so far, but if you need it pronto, then by all means buy it for 365, its your cash. I need it soon too, so I'll probly do the same if noone else jumps in on it.

Caps are worthless.
2nd battery is only good if you listen with the car off for hours.
Get the HO ALT
