Alrighty, I got my Atlas 15 repaired and it's in my car. I am going to tune my amp correctly this time. I have the Gain up and everything else at 0. What should I set the "Low Pass" at? Is it basically the same thing as Bass Boost? The higher the Hz I set it at the deeper the sub plays. I don't want to kill it again. Should I not touch the Low Pass? What do you experts do with the it. I should have sunten1 tune my amp soon. HINT HINT Sunny...

Thanks, Aaron

Put your gains ~1/3 to 1/2 way for starters...adjust if needed from the deck.
80hz is universally a good xover point for the car.

What amp?
What deck?

low pass is the crossover for the sub. high pass is the crossover for the full range speakers.
if you have a separate crossover for the speakers set them where the sub leaves off.
i have my HU set around 160hz so the sub works below the cut off and the componets work above the cut.

stick with what Manny says...and your sub will be fine. no bass boost under any circumstance.

my speakers are still bose and they dont like it. i would rather have a nice clean system than a farting, loud & bassy one. ive been working on the stereo one piece at a time. componants will come some day but its not on my list.

honestly? what is the rms rating on the sub? from there get a multimeter and set the gains for below the rms rating. As well if the enclosure is ported ensure you have a ssf as to not wildly accelerate the motion of your woofer uncontrollably.

check here for steps
Gain

that'll only be a prob if he play something that dips below the tuning freq of the box.

are you ported Black Maxima?
