Anyone with 6 x 9's in the rear ?

Hi, I just wanted to know if anyone has 6" x 9" speakers in their rear deck. And if you do can you please help me out with some pictures on how you put them in.

I think 6x9's would def.. be much better than 6.5's.

Quite to the contrary, 6.5s are the better choice. Sound is meant to be produced through a round driver, not an oval one.

If you plan on ever adding subs keep the stock size.

I have Orion 3-way 6x9's running at 3ohm on the rear deck. The bottoms are covered with carpet to prevent the air pressure from the subs blowing the woofers on the 6x9's. As far as I know, what I have been told (I am no stereo EXPERT, but I know some stuff) it's not good to have the speakers uncovered because the extra air pushing up from the subs over time will wear out the rear deck speakers causing them to not sound the way they should.

I use to have 6.5 components in the rear, but I wanted louder, so I went with the 6x9's and with the right choice, you'll more than likely be happy. I'm cool with mine. My 0.02

when i had it, i cut the rear deck with a die grinder in my 97 for some memphis 6x9 and added some plastic baffles. worked great.

just plot out a 6x9" hole with a grease pen, tape it off, cut it out, mark your mounting holes and drill them out. done deal. i think the baffles cost me $15 a pair.
