advice on subs

I have an old school orion XTR 1400 that I used to run 2 cerwin vega strokers.
I have been out of it for a while, but I was looking to run 10's or 12's but not really sure. Local audio shop said either 1 or 2 4ohm L7's 10 or 12 would sound good.
Currently running a kenwood DDX-8017 w/ orion 8004 , diamond audio hex 6.5 comp in front & rear. Mids & highs are not an issue clean, responsive & crisp!
any help would be appreciated !!!

Yup, all depends on what kind of funds you're working with...

I would like to stay under $ 800 or so but could easily see myself overextending as usual !

I'm assuming you're more geared towards SQ instead of SPL? I'm sure Don can hook you up with something since 800 bucks is a decent amount to spend on sub(s).

as for me, i recommend a pair of RL-p's from SoundSplinter. Very nice subs that won't break your bank. The Arc Flatlines looks badass as well

I think the orion has enough to push 2-12 rl-p's what about 3??
If I remember correctly the xtr 1400 is pushin 1400x1 @ 4 ohms
I should probably stick with 2 in a ported box. what kinda price can don get on these ?
He can do a box for me as well?

well 500 to 800 watts is the RLp's sweet spot. Don doesn't deal with Sound Splinter...boxes...i know he can build them, but not too sure if he ships them out.

my 15 was 283 shipped to my door, currently feeding it about 1k watts from an Arc amp. All orderes are made online at www.soundplinter.com. I think feeding 1400 to a pair of ported RLp's will be awesome

If the amp is 1400x1@4ohm mono and 700x2@2ohm stereo, which should I run?

the RLps comes in DVC 4 configurations. you can wire each sub down to 2 ohms and run the amp stereo. each sub will see ~700 watts.
