Sarcasm will get you nowhere, multi posting will get you a vacation.
Would you like me to repeat that?
WTF, why wont anyone help me out? i'm just asking a question. i dont see said hole or "rubber plug" on my car. i dont know if the car in the picture was an automatic and i have a 5sp and that is the difference. i'm looking for another suggestion of where to feed my power wire through the fire wall. seriously, can anyone help me out. i'm guessing that everyone on this audio and electronics forum has a power wire running through the fire wall, and those with a 4th gen could possibly try to help me out rather than give me a smart *** reply like metal maxima whom i assume doesnt even have a 4th gen.

People tell you where the grommet should be... if it's no there, then it's not there and you have to drill.
I had the same issue with my 6th gen just a couple of weeks ago. Supposedly there's a magic grommet behind the glovebox or some **** (somebody even posted a picture)... in the end everybody just said "drill", I wasted a couple of more hours looking for it, then said "**** IT" and drilled.
Case closed.
We really don't need 380 hole finder posts. I went out of the way to take a pick for you lazy guys out there that couldn't find the hole and you still can't find the hole. If you can't find that hole keep looking. Almost every car made has a hole that you can fit wire through. I have a 5spd in which I don't think it has anything to do with it being that there are no transmission coponents in that area. Now one thing is, I don't have abs so you might have your abs unit in that area. Mabye they got rid of the hole for 99's ?
may be abs there, i cant remember now, but i look everywhere for that hole. i found a huge grommit with a wire harness already going through right above the hood opening cable. i just cut into that and put it through there. had to remove wheel well, but oh, well.
thanks for your help (well, some of you)

dude just bust out the drill and make ur own whole, why search forever when u can make ur own hole in 2 seconds. I found a good spot to drill on my 92 was right above the gas pedal bolts, I beieve it was like 2 bolts with the throttle cable inbetween them. NE way, not sure if its the same with 4 gens, but just find a cleans spot and send her threw
ever get the power run?
I just started to run a new amp into my 98 GXE...got alot o miles now, but I don't upgrade so I can have a new leased Trailblazer EXt for the kids and wife. Anyway, been doing some projects, new HU - Alipine MP3, all new speakers, Polks..rocks out for a small amount of $. Added the Sirious tuner, and gitit all wired up and acvtivated...took onger than i wanted cause of bad weather and kids home from school. Plus the dash was broken, so had to get a replacement bezel fro junk yard. Ran RCAs for amp, remote turn on lead down the passenger side. Now I need to get the power wire to the trunk. I have been all over, seen a few posts.. Saw the picture of the gromet...and I have it! Only problem, what the hel is behind it? I, on a whim, tried to thread it through. No good. I thing there are AC vents or something. Anyway, I quickly took the HU back out to see if I can get in there. i woud rather not drill cause, I really don't know what i am doing and will probaby hit something important. Anybody tell me how to thread it through that Hole? Also, I looked above my gas (i have an automatic) and did not see a gommet..I see 2 large black pastic circles with slits in it for like a screwdriver...any help much appreciated. I read through most of Metal Maxima's mods...pretty $%^& cool. I'm jealous. I wish i had that talent and tenacity...
